Meet Jeffrey
I am a passionate advocate for public schools. Providing a high-quality education for our children is one of the most important responsibilities of the state. Not only is it enshrined in our state constitution, but it is the right thing to do.
I served more than 8 years on the Maize USD 266 Board of Education (2015-2024), including 4 years as the President. I was fortunate to see first-hand the outstanding teachers, administrators and staff as they worked tirelessly to educate all students in the district.
I am a nearly life-long resident of Wichita. We moved here when I was in elementary school when my dad came to work at Boeing. After graduating from Wichita Heights High School, I left for a few years to attend college and graduate school. I was fortunate to return to Wichita in 1996 when I started teaching at Wichita State University, where I continue to work today. Currently, I am the director of the School of Communication at Wichita State.
